They can do what they want when they are 18. By that time, as a parent, you hope that you have raised them right and they are smart enough to keep themselves out of trouble. I would let mine go because I would not want to be the one that holds her back from her dreams. All that I would ask is that she call me every day and let me know that she is safe. I would also give her a phone card to do so. I would not expect her to use her own money to satisfy my mind. And I would also tell her not to be afraid to call me if she is in trouble and needs me. I will be there for her no matter what.Would you allow a 18 year old teenage daughter to travel to countries far away alone or with friends?
It would depend on whether or not I thought that she was ready to handle the experience. She would also be always on her guard because guys over in Europe look specifically for girls who smile, wear conservative clothes, and wear make-up. She has got to be careful.Would you allow a 18 year old teenage daughter to travel to countries far away alone or with friends?
at 18 she should have enough sense, at 18 she has control of her own life, would be good for any 18 yr old to explore the world if she has that choice
definitely with friends, its way much fun with friends. But friend that parents can trust. You are more likely to have your friends as a witness than you are just having just you alone if something happens. And people who walk alone are more likely a better target than those who are not.
No we would not allow her to go alone, we would not give her a dime. It has nothing to do with trust She has better sense than to do something like that any way Going with a group is fine.

Observe teenage children going to school. How do they behave and how do the others react to them?
Is this an assignment?
I observe that my teenage children behave like they are embarrassed to have me observing them when they are interacting with their friends!
Mostly, they just behave as though they are trying to pretend their mother did not just drop them off in front of the school.Observe teenage children going to school. How do they behave and how do the others react to them?
Excuse me I am 12 but if you want to ask a question like that do on a website like www.adultsonly.com ok and type in the password that only ';adults'; know!Observe teenage children going to school. How do they behave and how do the others react to them?
The teenagers at my school generally act very stupid, but there are a few that are exceptionally mature. The mature ones often talk to each other about ideas; the immature kids talk to each other about people who aren't part of the conversation. A whole group of kids get together to subtly pick apart the weakest member of the group, who takes the abuse because she desperately wants to belong.
Teenagers generally act the same way as adults in office settings, just louder and with more raging hormones. The same dramas play out, but they're slightly more obvious.
That depends on alot of factors - could you be more precise in your question?
Good Luck!!!
In my town - I've seen lots of kids going to school (I have 3 teens in 3 separate schools). Mostly they are just walking. Not doing much of anything. There is always a group of kids standing in front of the school smoking.
the only thing I can't stand (although I feel regret for the one's who are smoking) is seeing them spit - even girls! - how attractive. But really, there is not much reaction to kids walking to school.
Yes, all spoilt brats. I blame the parents.
most teens today behave badly
why, to be popular, most move out of the way of those that seem to know where they are going
most like to follow leaders [ look at all the churches]
many don't want to look lost/left out so cling on
the few remaining rebels are independants
they could care less about fancy boyz or
snobby girlz
they follow the dark side
noze in goth bookx
withdrawn yawho
They are all evil.
its called being yourself
they will soon be robots in the machine of compliance
your answer is here http://www.yurtdisitatil.com
I should know since i am teen and if you mean like how do we act in school then its kind of hard to explain but most teens are more willing to do what the others do and some like to stand out because they want attention some do both i hope this answerd your question!!

What is a great car for a teenage girl?
Not really a price range. But I think I want a 4 door car. Needs a good amount of space because I play softball and I need space for all my stuff. Also good seating space. What is a great car for a teenage girl?
dodge ram 3500 cummins dieselWhat is a great car for a teenage girl?
i play baseball and i know alot of softball girls that get the volkswagon bugs and have enough room. plus when you see a bug its like a sign that there is a cute girl driving them. 75% of the time the girl is really cute. im always looking in thos things lol
Ford Crown Vic or stablemate Mercury Grand Marquis. Plenty of space inside and large trunk. Also safe. You obviously don't want a small car and these provide lots of room for people and equipment.
Toyota camry. Last 4 ever!
new subaru forester,nissan rogue
ford focus or maybe a honda civic what about a smaller suv

Any teenage novels that is a great read?
I've got to find a touching story that is in the teenage section for hw. any ideas?Any teenage novels that is a great read?
I really enjoyed the Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is about a different type of society, where they pick teenagers to play a 'game' where they have to survive a certain climate and be the last one standing. So, they have to kill each other. I read it in 2 days, it was SO good! The Host by Stephenie Meyes was good too. It was hard to get into, but by page 100, its awesome and hard to put down!

The Mortal Instruments series is great! I loved it. Another one I really liked was All The Business With Kiffo and the Pitbull. It was a bit different, but it was hilarious and sad. I hope you find some good books :)
In the mean time, why don't you help me with my story? :)-
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
definitely try jodi picoult's books (my sister's keeper, the pact)
i enjoyed sarah dessen books as well, but not exactly ';touching'; or moving, more fluffy, romantic, and fun.
Books by S.E. Hinton. Those are great, and you can learn a lot from them.
The Outsiders, That was then this is now, Tex, etc.
Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn
I gave up on reading because nothing compared to them.
Read them.
Seriously.
DO IT!
Forever By Judy Blume
and a must read for everyone is the Twilight Saga
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn
Chain of Hearts- Maureen McCarthy
My Sisiter's Keeper- Jodi Picolt
Lucas - Kevin Brooks
I've never read them but i've heard ones by Jodi Picoult are very good.

My teenage daughter goes out with someone who takes drugs?
thankfully he live about 10 miles away so she doesn't see him that often - but she won't listen that it's a bad situation to go out with someone who takes drugs. Twice now - she has ';lost'; her money whilst being with him. When i talk about the relationship she just tells me to get lost - i don't want to nag but i don't want her to get hurt - how can i talk to her?My teenage daughter goes out with someone who takes drugs?
because shes a teenager (as i am)
she doesnt want to be dictated by you
because she wants her own responsabilities.
all you can do is advice her - you can tell her once
and even though you might think its going in one ear and out the other its not, she will remember it. And when her money goes missing, she will have your 'told you so' running through her mind.
this is possibly a mistake she needs to make to understand.
She doesnt seem silly to be taking drugs with her - and im sure youve made it quite clear with her growing up the effect they have in order that she will not be interested.
soon she will get sick of all this
and know you were right
be there for her
but if you ban her from seeing him etc
it will make it worse because she wont want to talk to you about things
just make it clear you are there and are willing to help when she finally realises shes making a mistake :)
good luckMy teenage daughter goes out with someone who takes drugs?
Im a teenager as well, and i chill with people who do drugs.you cant choose who her friends are,so youll just have to trust your daughter.if you tell her she cant hang out with him,its just going to make her mad-and want to disobey you.you need to have a mutual respect going on with you and your daughter. If my mom respected me,I would respect her-and not want to go against her.If you treat her like a baby, shes not going to listen to you.Just tell her you trust her to make the right decisions, and thats all you can pretty much do
oooo thats not good.....i'll tell you. im 17 and a half and i just broke up with a boyfriend who was 21 and used drugs. the SECOND i found out he was involved with that stuff i left. its just NOT safe for her
i would ask her questions about it, but dont seem like your probing....just ask casually...but lets be serious. your the mom, and therfore you have total control of the situation.....i am not a fan of controlling parents, and it seems like you arent either but this is NOT considered being a wacko parent......she is in a dangerous situation, and this dude is pretty sketchy....you could provide her with an ultimatum and say if you dont talk to me about this guy you wont go out with him at all....so its either answer my questions, or stay home......at that point she will most likely talk to you
although, if i were you i would get her away from this guy before she gets hurt.....and theres a large probobility that she will get hurt.
this is NOT a healthy relationship.....especially if he;s taking her money. i would end it
she might not know whats good for her because shes so young, if youve tried talking, laying down the law, and showing her that its only going to hurt her; then try explaining that if her money keeps getting ';lost'; you wont give her anymore allowance if she can't be responsible. if she doesnt respond to that then tell her that if she doesnt break it off you'll kick her out the house.
she'll probably get the hint. :D
Well if u believe in God pray to God to help you with the situation with your daughter, because God is the all hearing the all knowing he is aware of all things!!!!!!!!! true:)
So ask him to help her listen to you, then try to talk to ur daughter and if God accepts ur prayer she will listen to you and hopefully it will be an easy task.
I know exactly what ur going through..my 19 Year old daughter was in a similar relationship,i talked to her and eventually she seen sense..she hated me talking about him cos ';he was the one';but after numerous times of him treating her poo she got rid.
I agree with Bounty in some respect cos my hubby was going to pay hm a lil ';Visit'; but my daughter persuaded him not too.
But my hubby has vowed ';He will get him';
I know it might not seem like they'll finish but bare with it,she'll see sense trust me.
the best thing could be to sit her down and ask her few questions like where does she go out with him and what happens down there.....after those questions ask her how does hs ethink she lost her money...........now u have discussed about that u might wanna ask her if there is anything odd about her relationship with her and her boyfriend and thern eventually u can do all the talking of saying that it makes you feel odd and upset that she goes out with a drug person.
fingers crossed hope this works
:o)
You're the parent, put a stop to it...or let her get hurt and learn her life lessons herself.
What risks is she putting herself in by dating a user? Does she ride in a car with him when he's been using? Does he run with a rough crowd that could be potentially harmful to her? How old is she? Perhaps you should talk to his parents about the situation and they can deal with their son...
You didn't give much info, but bottom line is you are the parent and you call the shots on who she can date or associate with.
You cannot, you have voiced your concerns, so just be there for her when it all comes crashing down, and have faith in her that she will not go down that route. most of us get hurt at some point in out lives, and you cannot always protect them from it. its part of life's lessons.
Look for signs that she's using drugs.
Attitude and being sassy happens to all teenagers it's quite normal.
Research about the drug the he uses to find out what happens when the drug is used.
I think you need to just lay off on her a little bit. If you have told her that multipule times, she knows what might happen, and is very protective off her self. Don't talk to her. Its for the best.
i think you should tell her you think he';s really cute. keep telling her that if you was younger you would love to go out with a great looking bloke like him! that';ll do it. take care. Lee.
explain to her the dangers of her going out with this guy and try to get her to stay away from him.do you think she does drugs because of her bf?
if shes just smoking pot dont hassle her about it but if its any thing else dont let her see him any more. and thats the truth.
I guess you could turn into mommy dearest and be mean, but then she might hate you
no wire hangers
Don't talk too her...get some info on who the fella is and send some of the big boys after him
Hope that helped :-D
How old is she over 18 or under 18? I am under 18 I had a friend who did drugs but I did not you are the parent and if she is under 18 you can drug test her!!oily skin blackheads
because shes a teenager (as i am)

How can you break up with a teenage girl?
I'm 12 and so is my girlfriend but i want to break up with her. we've only been dating for 6 days. How can i breakup with her without her or her friends getting mad. also her bff is my other exgirlfriend and i still liek her bffHow can you break up with a teenage girl?
Give her a good hug and then say we need to break up its not me its you im so sorry. trust me im a girl and if you say anything else she will kick you so hard you wont be able to have children if you know what i mean :p Been there DONE THAT.How can you break up with a teenage girl?
Go to her and tell her that is not working out. Done
She'll be embarrassed so DO NOT do it around her friends. DO NOT ask her bff out for at least another week. Say you're sorry. Do not do it over the phone! or E-mail! When she's alone say ';i'm really sorry but i don't want to be with you anymore'; Don't make it a long discussion try to get it over with, avoid her for a couple days so she doesn't feel all weird around you. She might actually be ok with it but just pray she doesn't cry or you'll be back with her in 5 seconds!
good luck. x
honestly you are too immature. you shouldn't even have a girlfriend.
you need to be honest. she is not going to hold this against you forever i promise! years from now in high school, the who dated who's in middle school are quite funny. just be honest with her and do it in person! dont do it over the phone or texting or instant messaging, thats cowardly like.
You're 12?
Dude, your not even a teenager.
6 days isn't a long time.
Stop starting drama.
Just tell her you want to break up.
Tell her you still have feelings for your ex.
This question doesn't concern you as you and your girlfriend aren't even teenagers.
be upfront, answer any questions why you did (shell need closer) dont give her any cheesy lines like its not you, its me (girls hate that). explain to her with detail why, and hug her at the end.
just break up with her. her friends are gonna get mad either way. by the way your 12 thats means your a preteen. haven't quite reached the teen years hun. Don't worry though a relationship as 12 year old will be nothing compared to when 16.
do the ';it's not you, its me'; bit, tell her you wanna just be friends for now, then bring her to Mcdonalds
';im breaking up with you... its not you, its me.';
Ouch what a mess!
Since you've been dating for a tiny bit, then you're probably not that serious or in too deep, so going serparate ways won't be that humungous, if i can say.
It's rather early for you to do stuff like that. Being 12 is about hanging out with friends, going out to the movies, theme parks...and running around, like skateboarding... you get the picture.
Good luck
this is a hard one! just say that i still like my old girlfrined but i also like you...even if you dont. then go ask her bff if she still likes you. if she says no then i dont know what you should do but if she says yes. nice one
just tell her nicely but in person not in a text message or anything!
dont go out with her bff yet
i done it twice... all u have to say is we can be freinds but its a bit getting to serios so its over...you will probaly end up being with a girl crying ..
Just break up with her, girls come and go, you have your whole life ahead of you
I dont know but me as a teen as well i just start not hanging around with her in lunch and other time you can then whate tell she brakes up with me .
Or just be traite out
Oh go screw yourself. You're 12, just throw you mighty mouse lunchbox at her and tell her it's over.
tell her gently you don't feel right with her and all, but tell her you want to be friends. NOW trying to like her bff a week after can cause friend problems. Just tell her bff you still like her AT LEAST 4 months after (if u can wait that long...hahahaha) and tell her you want to go out with her if her best friend would be ok with it. be nice and polite and try to still be friends. AND PS- people on here WILL tell you that your to young to have a gf or call you names but listen to me- ignore them. im 12 to, and have asked love questions and those are the only answers i get. so dont listen to them. and im not in for ten points, im in to help you.....although ten points would be nice......hahahahaha. good luck!
tell her its over you cant go on or do it anymore and kiss her tell her you loved her but ur srry
Even if you try to make a clean break, she will still be hurt and I hope you understand that 12 is kinda young to be dating in the first place. (Personally I don't think you would have any chance with her BFF, but others may say otherwise. One of my BFF had a boy break up with her then hit on me and she was devastated. So you might have blown it already.) But you could make a clean break by trying to say you think it would be better if you just stay friends, (If you want to) .
don't lie to her. But your only twelve mate calm down. If you like her BF, if they're are truly BF then I doubt that you have a chance with her. but cool things down with you gf and then let her go. then when your just friends again and she does like you then you can ask her BF out again if you want but have the guts to do it in person. I know it awkward but (i'm a girl btw) I cant stand it when boys don't have the guts. kay. and boys wont know what to do so don't take there advice. kay good luck.
';im breaking up with you... its not you, its me.';
Ouch what a mess!
Whats a cute short haircut for a teenage girl with red hair?
I'm thinking bangs to the side, a little longer around the ears? and layered. very layered and straight
I've got long hair, its pretty red (not like bright orange, but definately red, its not dyed. people don't call me ginger. not really a ginger.), moderately thick, not a lot of volume, and a little wavy when not straightened..
what do you think?Whats a cute short haircut for a teenage girl with red hair?
Think hair, doesn't look good short, maybe a cut like Natasha, from antm had in cycle 8, I think that would be fabulous.

I'm a teenager with redhair! I love my hair! I have bangs that sweep to the side and end at my lower lip when i pull them to the front of my face (but i keep them pulled back in a clip or sweeped to the side) As for lenghth its a few inches past my shoulder. I also have a few layers. One tip for ALL redheads like myself: NEVER high light redhair! It will always go wrong!
Since you don't have a lot of volume, definitely get layers to puff it up and add a little spice lol. I'd say get your hair cut to right above your shoulders. Red heads would look cute with short hair, but i havent seen anyone with it yet, so start your own trend! It feels great having a short haircut, and if you dont like it just deal with the look until it grows out. I recommend side bangs, they look great on most people and are very in style.
hope i helped!
i think you should get a medium length for your hair with short layers! i love red head girls with this look! here are some pics!! aslo some side bangs would look soo cutee!

Whats teenage angst, what does it do, and when does it actually occur?
I was wondering what angst was, and then i was wondering what TEENAGE angst was. What does it do to you? And when does it happen? Im 12 and im just wondering... I heard it means that teenagers are mad at the world or something.Whats teenage angst, what does it do, and when does it actually occur?
hi..i was a teenager once...male..female..doesn't matter....it was half and half....wow!! being a teen was great!!..but also i had feelings of depression..hopelessness..doom..frustrat鈥?..despair and confusion..that was my angst..feelings and emotions were overwhelming..you have your family...school..society in general to deal with....and a whole lot of physical changes...all normal and natural complicated as they seem........what you heard about anger and being mad can happen...and does...but it's up to you what it does or doesn't do.....don't even expect to have it!!.how you want to feel about your world....it's a personal choice and has everything to do with how you feel about your situation...whatever it may be in life...it's the ATTITUDE you develop....capitol letters means it's everything in your life.....how everything is approached by your attitude...focus on positive and the good...you have the abilty to decide how you feel...this takes a lot of practice but it's one of the tools in life to happiness......i'm hoping you're able to talk to your parents or friends about how you feel...i admire you for being able to say';i don't know';...and ask questions...don't ever stop...that is a very valuable quality....Whats teenage angst, what does it do, and when does it actually occur?
Im 14, angst is a *****, you get pissed at the parentals all the time and think everythings unfair. Its really just your adult brain taking over your child brain. So whever you get mad, try to remeber that its just your brain spazing out. Try to think of the good things you have. Do karate, play video games, watch tv, whatever, just have fun.
Get ready man its comin soon!
Well, you're pretty close to being correct, but you already seem like your ahead of the game. Childhood goes by very quickly; you still have enough time to figure this all out. Go outside and play with your friends, and leave the computer to the adults.
I think its when they are mad at the world and they blame the world for their problems. I am a teenager, but i dont go through that stuff, its a waste of time. The only thing that is bad when your a teenager is that you will have lots of work to do and that will make you really busy and will stress you out. Also, when you become a teenager, you will go through some changes in your body which will affect your mood a lot and that will make you more sensitive and cause you to blame everyone and stuff. Thats why most teenagers blame their problems on the world. Not me though, i'm relaxed and chilled. I hope i was able to help.
haha yeah, but its not an actual ';stage of development';. Teens are just really moody because of all the hormones racing through their bodies. Angst is the extreme moodiness:: like when girls yell things at their moms like ';You are a horrible mother and I HATE YOU!';

Could you compare the number of teenage deaths in the UK with the number in the US due to alcohol?
I believe that because teens in the UK are allowed to drink they are wiser in choices they make about alochol. Anybody have the numbers?Could you compare the number of teenage deaths in the UK with the number in the US due to alcohol?
No, you can't really...UK statistics are about ';alcohol caused'; and US statistics are about ';alcohol related';. They're not the same thing, as something alcohol related might not be alcohol caused.
There are some people who say that the US government makes direct comparisons very difficult and only promotes statistics that support the over 21 law. For example, the average European drinks twice as much as an American does (promote that). Europeans have about the same life expectancy and lower rates of cancer and heart disease (don't promote that). The highest rates of alcoholism are in the US and Russia (don't promote that). More European youth binge drink than American youth (promote that, binging is more than 5 drink a day, even though in Europe two of those might be with food). Overall crime rates, violent crime rates and specifically alcohol related crime across Europe is a fraction of one major city in the US (don't promote that). And so on .... even though the EU is very comparable to the US in terms of population size.Could you compare the number of teenage deaths in the UK with the number in the US due to alcohol?
In the US about 5,000 under 21's a year die as a direct result of alcohol they have drunk themselves
Unfortunately I can't find figures for the UK that have a corresponding statistic.
It has however been shown, in the UK, that children from families that allow them to drink controlled amounts at home are less likely to go out and binge drink.
What coud be interesting in this field is to monitor the situation in France.
They currently have an age limit of 16 for alcohol, but are proposing raising it to 18.
This may be a good study case in years to come to see if the 2 year difference actually makes any difference.
or the fact the US has a population 5 times larger.....

I think you should get some books by Meg Cabbot.
I love her books.
She wrote The Princess Diaries.
Nicholas Sparks wrote The Notebook and A Walk To Remember, I also have books by him that aren't movies, but his books are really good.
Especially Dear John.
From what you'vesaid above I know you'll love these books, they are definitely teen romance novels as that's my favourite genre, many have some comedy too...
The A List (series of 10) - Zoey Dean
About the goings on of the teenage children of the rich and famous, contains a wide variety of material - love, hate, jealousy etc. Loved it!
Girl Meets Boy, Guy Next Door, All American Girl, Avalon High, etc. - Meg Cabot
I absoloutly love Meg Cabot's books! I would especially recommend the Girl Meets Boy %26amp; Guy Next Door as well as the third in that series, I immensly enjoyed them! Some are intended for adults but most for youth and I love them all!
Lioness Quartet, Wild Magic Quartet, Trickster, etc. - Tamora Pierce
Tamora Pierce's books are mainly set in the land of Tortall in medieval times, they use the same characters just at different stages of their lives and different books/series' focus on different people. They consist of fighting, magic, love, etc.
The diaries of kelly ann (2 books) - by Liz Rettig
These recount the goings on of an older teenager as she strugles to make decisions and learn to trust in others. The second one, Now or Never is about her relationship with a boy and is funny but romantic and suspencful at the same time.
It's A Mall World After All - Not sure who wrote it though...
Comedy of a girl and how she falls in love with her best friend's boyfriend's bestfriend while stalking her friend's boyfriend in an attempt to prove he is a lying cheating scumbag. A very good read %26amp; lovey but funny at the same time.
I'd Tell You I Love You But I'd Have to Kill You - Ally Carter
About a girl brought up as a spy and enrolled in a leading spy school who falls in love with an ordinary boy and can鈥檛 tell him who she actually is. Funny. There is a second in the series called To Spy or Not to Spy, it鈥檚 just as good.
Possibly the S.A.S.S. series - Numerous Authors
About the travels of students and what happens to them on their stay - love etc. Not brill but an ok read
Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paloini
Love them, you have to read them, Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr!
Sweet Valley High Books - ???
I can鈥檛 remember who wrote these but they鈥檙e a pretty good read even if they are kind of old. If you鈥檙e into series鈥檚 these are good as their鈥檚 over 100 books
The Last Summer (Of You and Me) - Ann Brashares
A good book but immensly sad, it is probably better for older teens or adults.
I have more suggestions if you want to hear them, just contact me or check out my website, http://www.freewebs.com/greatteennovels/
Hope you find something you like here!

What are some good novels on teenage pregnancy?
i love novels that show the struggles that teens go through everyday. i read hanging on to max and it broke my heart. anyone know any other good books that are similar?
i dont want informational book i want novels! What are some good novels on teenage pregnancy?
Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson. Mainly about a girl who wants to be accepted to MIT. This is a very internal conflict for the girl since her mother (deceased) attended MIT. She's an honors student, and great at science, but she just can't seem to be happy. Her father is a minister, and she feels pressured by him to be perfect. She happens to think of him as a hypocrite and she misses her mother. Other sub-characters include her boyfriend, friends, and a school outcast who plays an integral part to the story.
I won't say WHO is the one that was pregnant though. What are some good novels on teenage pregnancy?
I recently read this book called ';Where the Heart is'; by Billie Letts and really enjoyed it. At the start the language used annoyed me a bit (the characters don't speak proper English) but after a while you get used to it and it really shows more of the characters' personalities. It is the story of Novalee Nation who was abandoned by her boyfriend at a Wallmart store, 7 months pregnant with their child with all of seven dollars and seventy-seven cents. It is a touching story of the generosity of strangers. I'd recommend this book to anyone. I hope you like it too.
'Blue moon' and then 'Baby Blue' by Julia Green deal brilliantly with these issues.

Danielle Steel- The Gift (prepare to cry!)
The only one I can think of at the moment may be tricky to find, but it is a good read. It is called Easy Connections by Liz Berry. The main character is a teen who gets pregnant and is not too happy about it. There is also a sequel called Easy Connections which is equally as good. I've seen copies recently on amazon. Enjoy.oily skin blackheads moon drops

What is up with all the teenage pregnancies?
Are parents teaching their kids about the Consequences of having sex? What are your thoughts? What is up with all the teenage pregnancies?
I think that sexual education is not good enough because they only talk about what happens; they never talk about what age is appropriate and stuff like that.
Also, it's mainly television and movies. Have you seen the Pussycat Doll show? It's horrible!
All of these shows, such as the Pusscat Dolls, are teaching young girls that it's okay to be sexual like that at any age and that sex is okay because ';well they're doing it!';
I had a lot of friends who had sex (most of them are pregnant or are gone because they had the baby) and they regret it a lot. I will never have sex until I know that I am ready for it (which will not be for a long time), I will never be like them.
So, yeah, I think it's parents, television, peer pressure, and lack of sexual education. What is up with all the teenage pregnancies?
I know. I dont know what people are thinking these days. I truly think they just want to ruin their lives. Because once you have these kids its not like you can jsut turn around and have your life back. I mean you have to take care of the kid. It pretty much kills your high school and college career.
:]
I think maybe that there really arent THAT many teenage pregancies, there were way more back before they started teaching safes-sex practices in school. Nowadays people are just more frank about it, and talking about it more, so it seems like there really is alot. At my school though, we have at the most only 1 girl a year who's pregnant. that we know about anyway. And these are the kinds of kids who are gonna have sex no matter WHAT the school or their parents teach.
well i would say it starts with mom%26amp;dad, they never beleave in talking sex with the kids, so the kids hang out, and do what come natuarl, if they had been upgrated by the parents, and the bad things that come alone after the few moments of fun, itys a shame, come on mom and dad, talk to these young kids, birds and bees
Teen pregnancy rates are actually lower than they were in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It's just the media and the fact that we talk about it now.
Back then they hid it.
Kids are stupid now days. They think its so cool to have sex but then 9 months later when they are giving birth they finally become educated.
I think it's the television. I've seen a lot of very innopropriate shows on there before. I also think that parents aren't really watching their kids when it comes to television because my little sister is only 9 and watches Family Guy.
I think it's peer pressure. When I was in high school, there were so many teenage pregnancies....more than today (from what I've seen). Perhaps it is the parents fault, but I think that kids are allowed to do whatever they want nowadays because I had so many restrictions on me back then and kids today just do whatever. For example, if a student in my school got caught littering, they would get a fine, but now there is no fine. People just don't care anymore.
Kids are just not careful. Society is not as restricting on sex as it used to be. It's out there everywhere. I don't know whether to blame parents or not. My parents let me do pretty much whatever I wanted but I did not get pregnant in high school. My best friends parents kept a tight leash on her but she wound up having a baby due to a one night stand. I guess there is no answer. Start giving these kids some contraceptives if they arent going to use better judgement!
frankly i think a lot of parents just think kids will do what they will do, so they don't tell them not to or that they should wait!
basically i think people don't understand that a teenager can have a brain and use it.
i think parents are falling down on the job a lot, obviously not all of them, but a great deal of them!
this is all i have to say ... every family is diffrent soo let them do there own thing but yes i do agree with you what IS with all the pregnacies? and is the parents are teaching ther kids about sex late or early then they must have reason! i mean give them a break
yes. they know what happens and all. but however, the people who do it, dont really think about all that, until after the 9months..so i dont really know..
I think schools should not only teach abstinence-only since thats obviously not working.
I guess kids just love sex!
Ultimately the responsibility for educating children falls on parents' shoulders.
A lot of parents these days seem to think that it's somebody else's job to fill in the blanks that they are too afraid to talk about.
These people often end up as grandparents.
FP
Quite a number of factors play in. Parents are too scared to teach their kids about sex and the consequences. There are no morals in the time we're living in. Adults don't practice self-control, so kids figure ';why should I?';. Lots of people blame the school systems for not teaching sex ed anymore, but those teachings should start in the home.
Look i've had the talk i've even had the baby think it over...sometimes it doesnt help..my grandparents say stuff all the time..my mother even mentioned how she doesnt want a grandbaby....U don't always know the situation...Sometimes you just dont think clearly because you either are or think you are in love with a guy..You do stupid things without even caring what you were taught...Im seventeen and for my boyfriend and I of a year and a half we are 4.0 students and we were just curious..some teens are curious and dont think at the moment what the curiosity can cost...Im 17 and im almost 4 months along... I can't change things and i am still college bound a dentist is paying my tuition for following his footsteps...not everyone is as lucky as me..but no one should give up if they have the misfortune of being a teen mom..the only thing stopping them is themselves...if they give up they they already lost.
Everybody thinks ';it won't happen to me.'; Really bad mentality, girls!
Parents aren't being parents anymore. They are to busy working all day and don't have time to spend with their children when they come home from work. Instead of being the parents like they are supposed to be the parents act like their kids friend. The kids don't think they can get pregnant on the first time they lose their virginity and they think that they can't get AIDS the first time either. They think that they are invincible and that nothing bad will happen to them. They think that taking care of a baby is the coolest thing to do and then when the baby is born 9 months later if they don't kill it first that is then they pass it off on their parents to take care of because they don't want to lose their ';social life'; and lose all their friends. They think taking care of a baby is a piece of cake and think that it's the only way to get a guy to like them is to have sex.
most parents do educate their children about sex.. but i also do know some kids at my highschool that have unprotected sex because they don't know better.. and they don't really care. but for the most part i think kids are aware of the consequenses.. but they just don't make the right choices.
Sex education classes just encourage kids to have sex, and ';contraception'; lures them into a false sense of security.

Chestnut Uggs
itunes Gift cards
Perfume
Jewelry

An iPod Loud Speaker
Hollister Clothes
Aeropostale Clothes
IM CLUELESS !What are some gifts for a teenage girl?
sounds to be like you have MORE than enough, just an idea but you should try giving another 13 year old girl who has almost nothing, something like what you have example. donating clothes, magazines, books, gift cards anything like that to an organization that gives gifts to children at Christmas. just a thought since Christmas is the season for giving after all. but i know it is nice to receive gifts of coarse :]What are some gifts for a teenage girl?
Some really cute Juicy Couture socks are adorable for winter, maybe a few vintage things, JOnas Brothers tickets, a trip to NYC, a camera, a few dvds, some make up, and a trip for you and your mom to a salon, that way you get to hang with loved ones and get pampered! But, it is so hard to keep the idea of giving under the stress of the holidays, but try to keep the idea of christmas, the idea of Jesus coming to save us in your heart.
wow it sounda like you have a lot there. I'm thirteen and I would love to be able to come up with that many things on my list. I'm
not sure ';santa'; is willing to get you more than that.

Teenage girls - How would you react to this?
My sister is 17 years old, and she has (or had) loads of teddies, my aunt came down to our house one day and told her she was too old for them and said that at her age she should be wearing make up and packed up all my sister's teddies, china dolls and disney films and put them in the attic and told her if she ever got them down she would put them in the bin.Teenage girls - How would you react to this?
That's horrible!!! Just because she still likes Disney doesn't mean there's anything wrong with her. I still love Disney and I'm 15. Some of the best movies ever made are created by Disney. I still also have a lot of my stuffed animals from when I was younger. I relied on some of them for a lot of things. My one bear got me through whenever I was sick, or had any problems, even my parents divorce when I was 9. Sometimes you just need to feel like a kid, so you snuggle up with a blankie, grab your teddy bear, and put in a Classic Disney!Teenage girls - How would you react to this?
I like cute things (I own a few Helly Kitty t-shirts and a few Disney themed socks for example, I love video games, and I still watch cartoons/anime), and I'm probably one of the most mature teen girls you'll meet. I've had discussions with people who honestly feel like they're talking to another adult and not a kid when they talk to me. I'm also at the top of my class (I have a pretty long streak of perfect grades on everything, including test scores, for example), looking at Ivy League universities in the future, have a high IQ, and always dress nice when I go out somewhere (even to school). Your aunt is being ridiculous, to be honest. There is nothing wrong with someone liking to collect cute things.
Now, if she was having a back and forth conversation with them, telling you what they ';said';, trying to get your family to set an extra place at the table for each of them, and treating them like they were real people, I could understand. But if she's just collecting them, it's perfectly normal. Some people collect coins, some collect bottle tops, some collect stamps, and I know a guy who collects candy. Your sister could make some good money off of her collection some day.
Tell your aunt to stick it where the sun don't shine! Seriously, she should accept your sister for who she is and not be in a rush for her to grow up. I'm 14 and I still have a bunch of stuffed animals and all of my disney movies, but I also wear make-up and act pretty mature for my age.
OMG This is not on!!
What gives your aunt the right to decide what your sister can/cannot enjoy?
Even a parent can't expect their 17 year old to suddenly detatch themselves from all the things they have grown up with %26amp; enjoyed so far in life.
I personally would go to the aunts house %26amp; pack up her favourite things then take them all to a charity shop!!
Im 17 2 and i still have my teddys in my room...thats just crazy your never to old for tedies and disney films like there just classical...i mean my big sister my mother and all my friends still have teddies.. your aunts completely out of order...theres no age on teddies or disney films..yea she can wear make up etc and still have teddies and disney films..if you are the big brother you should say something to your aunt..if it was me id have told her were to go.
I would be a bit miffed i mean maybe your sister likes having her cuddlies arond the bed. I would be a bit upset if someone said that to me. Mind you im 27 and i have a few teddies on my bed. I actually enjoy watching disney films as well. Im just a big kid at heart. I would never change my ways for anyone. So there is no way fudge baz archie and the gang are leaving my house anytime soon. ( yes i know i name my teddies and im proud of it)
I'd think that was awful! Its nothing to do with your aunt, tell your sister she can do what she likes and tell your parents too. If she tries it again, stand up for her.
I mean, just because your sister keeps hold of some of her childhood things doesn't mean she's immature, maybe they're just special to her! I'm 15, and there's so much stuff from my childhood that I wished I had kept!
she shud really tell her aunt that no matter how old a person is, there's alwaiz a child in him/her. those things define who she is, and that they shud not be taken away. there's nothing wrong with owning teddies and stuff. and make up? that really depends on the person. not all teenagers are into make up, it really depends on the type of person.
she shud be who she is.
I would be enraged. If it were me, I would get my teddies and movies and hide them for a few days in the room, then wear makeup like a whore (at least when in the house). Maybe it would put things into perspective for this aunt of yours.
I would be upset if my mother ever did that. I would honestly go up to the attic, bring them down, and hide them from my aunt. You are NEVER to old to have a stuffed animals, watch disney films, and have dolls around.
I would the her to STFU.
They're MY teddies not HERS! Oh wait... Your *Sisters* teddies *Giggles nervously*
Your sister can do what she wants. They are HER teddies! Her aunt can't tell her what to like and what not to like.
:]
That's ignorant and unfair. They aren't your aunt's possessions and it's not your aunt's life; she has no right to do that.
I would tell my aunt to screw off and that it isn't her life to dictate.
You said your aunt did this. Where was your mother when this happened?
Your aunt crossed the line, between relative and, parent.
Well i'm 12 (almost 13) and I LOVE my teddies, they help me sleep too. + i'm an animal lover so I LOVE toy animals. Even my older brother and i still like disney movies.
I'd be pissed. Having all that stuff is perfectly fine and normal for someone of ANY age. Your aunt has no right to do that.
That's shocking!
I'd go nuts if someone did that with my stuff!
But she's 17 - she can make her own decisions %26amp; should be able to stand up to her aunt.
well i'm not a teenager anymore and dont have any teddies but i love disney films so i would go crazy!
I would be mad.Even if she did love all those things,it's honestly none of the aunts business!I would get them down and never let her touch my stuff.
anything but disney!! ( classic disney, not hannah montana and those new disney)
yo ida went the hell off. thats ur sisters stuff and not ur aunts!
Oh My God!
I still have teddies and i'm 17!
if my aunt did that to me....
Yeah, in my opinion, she acts different from other typical teens. I don't want to offend you, but I think ages 10+ girls start to set aside toys (in our family).
She should visit a psychologist, maybe there's something wrong.
I don't say she's crazy, maybe she has trauma or breakdown...
That's horrible!!! Just because she still likes Disney doesn't mean there's anything wrong with her. I still love Disney and I'm 15. Some of the best movies ever made are created by Disney.
Would this be bipolar or just teenage mood swings?
Im 16, and have really bad mood swings. I don't know if its because im a teenager or what!? Just wondered if anyone had any ideas on how I could tell the difference.
I go from suicidal thoughts, self harm and deep despair and depression and about 1/2 weeks later Ill be so happy its unbelievable, dancing along the street singing to strangers and feeling like life cant get better, then it goes back to what I said before after 2 weeks.
Any ideas?Would this be bipolar or just teenage mood swings?
It may be due to hormone changes.. and being a teenager is not that easy.. a tough time for most.. but you should definitely seek help by going to talk to your parents about this.. and tell them you would like to tell your doctor about these mood swings.. every teenager has mood swings but yours are extreme.. and they go up and down drastically so you definitley should go and have some tests done to be on the safe side.. because your mood swings are really very sudden and very dramatic when they happen.. so go and seek medical advice first.. your doctor will be better able to tell if this is due to hormones or if this could be something more serious and the fact that you think about suicide when depressed and cutting yourself definitely is reason enough to see the doctor and tell him about this.. and maybe a good idea would be to get councelling.. because suicidal thoughts every other week without a reason and then the world is sunny again.. that I believe is something the doctor should know about.. Don't be ashamed to confide in your parents and the doctor will help you and decide with you if councelling is a good idea.. I believe it would only help you..Would this be bipolar or just teenage mood swings?
No, that doesn't sound like normal teenaged mood swings. The extreme swing from deep depression to intense happiness is exactly the meaning of ';bipolar'; -- that is, moods that are the polar opposite of each other. Bipolarity is a very serious condition and needs to be addressed; speak to your doctor or a councillor at school as soon as possible to see if you do, in fact, suffer from manic depression (bipolar). Your doctor will be able to provide you with proper resources needed to manage the condition - ie. medication, referral to a psychiatrist, or support groups.
Please seek help immediately.
i doubt you're bipolar, teenagers are just really dramatic. but if you think you might do some serious harm to yourself, i think you should tell somebody and get a professional opinion.
Could be bipolar or depression. It's definitely not normal. I was the same around that age (hormones make the moods worse), and I have been diagnosed with depression.
Could easily be bipolar. See a psychiatrist: The internet is an unreliable place, so don't take anyone's answer too seriously.
i have a lot of friends who see therapists.....it seems to be quite the fashion now which is kinda worrying.
I suffered a mental breakdown last year...my family had fallen apart and my grades were slipping. Suicide seemed like the perfect option to me. On the outside i seemed hyper, funny and happy, but when i would get home from school i would shut myself away. i thought i was the only person who felt like this.
Eventually i saw a therapist. I was put on medication which made me even worse. She told me that everyone feels down, and that i suffered worse because i didnt know how to handle it. I finally realised that there is a place in the world for everyone and that i shouldnt consider other peoples problems so much when i had my own to deal with.
i suggest you talk to your parents about things and when you feel down, honestly tell yourself that it will all work out. Surround yourself with people who make you happy.
as i have grown up things have gotten a lot easier....i understand what triggers my depression and have learned how to control it. you just gotta find out what makes you feel like this.
I have a history of bipolar within my family and there is a lot more to it than just moodswings......
i hope this helps just a tiny bit..there was a time when i cudnt see a way out either!

Is it weird to be 13 and have a dream about being a teenage mother?
Not really. Tell us more about the dream. At thirteen I am sure everyone is bombarding you with what NOT to do your teenage years. Maybe you are really becoming in touch with your reality, and this life, That so many teenage girls do not plan to be a teenage mother. It was probably your subconcious mind imagining yourself with an unplanned pregnancy and becoming a mother.
In my case, I had a dream I was a mother at 14. It was a few days after I seen this little girl in the airport. She kept trying to run off from her mom.I was watching her cause she was the most beautiful child I had ever seen. She left her mom(who was a crackhead and you could tell had never raised her daughter) and went off to find a ';mother.'; The girl didnt feel safe with the woman. Anyway. She came to my group of friends, it was about 6 of us. and she didnt even look at our faces. She just walked around the circle, stood in the middle and turned and turned then she reached her arms up to me. Then looked at me.It was the sweetest thing in the world. I thought about her for a long time.
Maybe you want to care for an at risk child or someone younger than you? Or maybe you have a childish friend that you have to take care of? It could be that too, you know.Is it weird to be 13 and have a dream about being a teenage mother?
Dreams are really helpful in that we have complete freedom to act out any scenarios that we may be thinking about. anything from making love to all sorts of unusual people, to experiencing having a child. Thankfully this saves us the necessity of actually physically creating these scenarios to learn major lessons. Is it weird to be 13 and have a dream about being a teenage mother?
nooo!!! I'm 15....trust me...I've had at least 3 dreams that have to do with me becoming pregnant, having a baby or that sort. It's not weird...I, personally want a baby!! But I definately would not because it would ruin my future...but sometimes if you want something you dream of it. If u dont want it %26amp; u only had the dream once then its no big deal..it was just on ur mind probably..u prob. read in magazines about new teenage moms including jamie lynn spears so ur brain may have just dreamt about it
yes find help immediatley.
not realy.
no, me and alot of other people out there have been stranger things in out dreams.(doomsday,man/bat,fat sumowrest.)

What are some songs that a teenage girl who was raped, could relate to?
The song doesn't have to be about actually BEING raped, but like, the emotions someone might have if they were...
and maybe, a song that is in the alternative genre.
maybe mayday parade or something?
anything helps!!
thanks in advance :]What are some songs that a teenage girl who was raped, could relate to?

*Killing Me Softly by The FugeesWhat are some songs that a teenage girl who was raped, could relate to?
';the safest place'; by Leanne Rymes
This helped me through the nightmares and flashbacks from the rape. As well as my bf being there for me.
Daytime I'm fine
Everything is back normal
Last night I thought that I would die
I had nightmares, I was so scared
Thank god that you were by my side
To hold me when I cried
I wanna be strong
But I dont' wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
But I believe that you've got a hero's face
Right here in your arms is safest place
The safest place
It feels so real
You showed I could trust you
With emotions I had locked away
It was your touch, your words
They hear deepest part of me
That only you can see
I wanna be strong
But I don't wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
But I believe that you've got a hero's face
Right here in your arms is safest place
As long as I'm with you
As long as I can feel you

On and on and on and on....

Her Ghost In The Fog - Cradle Of Filth
It's black metal, just so you know. It may not be the emotions, but it is about that tragic action. It's the best I can think of.
THE EPITOME OF TENAGE RAPING EMOTIONAL SONGS IN RUNAWAY LOVE ! search it its about girls and rapings, and how they feel after. and its by mario and mary j blige.
';Polly'; by Nirvana is about rape, it's a great song though.
I can't think of any for emotions though.
metabolic - slipknot
its intense but it does get rid of any pain, anger, sorrow, etc.

95 poundsHow much should a 5'6 teenage girl weigh? I'll give 10 points to the first person to answer!!!?
8 stone=112 lbs
I would say about 9stone to 9stone 5lbs
129lbs.
117-154 is normanl
Ideal is 135.
120-125 lbs
Between 118-135
My mothers a nutritionist, so yea.
I've heard that for the first 5 feet of height you should weigh 100 lbs and then 5 lbs for each inch thereafter .. so at 5'6';, one should weigh 130 lbs. However, it depends on your bone density. If you have a heavier frame, you would want to weight slightly more, same goes for a lighter frame, slightly less.

What do you do when your teenage sister sister stays on the phone 24/7 and I.M people at the same?
is this a problem or a hobbie? What do you do when your teenage sister sister stays on the phone 24/7 and I.M people at the same?
See if your parents will give you a phone of your own and don't give her the phone number. Sounds like she may have a problem and needs someone to help her. What do you do when your teenage sister sister stays on the phone 24/7 and I.M people at the same?
I seriously doubt she's on the phone 24/7, she has to sleep, go to the bathroom, eat, etc. Granted, you can probably still talk/text while eating or peeing, but I doubt you can while sleeping.
Teenagers spend alot of time on the phone, and alot of time texting--it's the nature of the beast. Let your parents worry about if she's spending too much time doing it. If her grades in school are fine, they're probably ok with it.

What's the best underwear for teenage guys, support and comfort wise?
I'm getting sick of buying undies that only last 6 months or less. So any ';long lasting'; suggestions would be great. And please explain why it's the best. What's the best underwear for teenage guys, support and comfort wise?

umm what kind do u wear now? boxerbriefs? briefs? boxers?- i think boxer briefs are the best- they give u support, but arent constrainin like briefs, i do wear boxers at times but thats in super hot days lol-
boxerbriefs- looks good-fit good-support without being tight-and if u ever catch urself in a game of strip poker atleast u will look decent when ur stripped down to ur undies lol.
as far as brands go there are tons- target has decent ones and so does H%26amp;M
H%26amp;M's tend to be a bit more tighter then reg ones- i think these are fine when u r wearin slim fit pants or something-it helps keep the boys in place and not down ur leg
Go commando. Stop wearing underwear and you won't have to buy them anymore. Many people go without underwear... Freeball!!!
depends on the person man
i like hip trunks
theyre like tight boxers, cotton and dont have the thread below my balls if you know what i mean
they hold them boys nicely

Teenage ladies: What do you look for when shopping for guys?
My 17 son just went to his first dance , things didn't go well . Tips?Teenage ladies: What do you look for when shopping for guys?
You can't shop for guys like you shop for clothes - that's preposterous.
Anyway, high school dances are lame. All the girls just grind all over each other (and the football players) and don't really make an attempt to talk to guys.
Tell him that if he's really looking to find a girlfriend (not that dating is really important anyway) to join a club or something. Take a yoga class or join a book club.Teenage ladies: What do you look for when shopping for guys?
tall, cute, no acne, good personality, funny, muscular, not SKINNY.

What are the statistical differences between teenage crime and crimes commited by the elderly?
I don't know exact numbers, but it is a large and dramatic difference.
Crime is highest in teenage males.
Most people tend to ';grow out'; of crime as they become older.

How do you feel about new teenage drivers driving large SUVs?
What are your personal thoughts on this..any why?
This is just out of curiosity..
Thanks :)How do you feel about new teenage drivers driving large SUVs?
im a very bad driver and im 16. i have already hit a rock with my Cadillac DeVille. so i don't think a teen should drive a SUV.How do you feel about new teenage drivers driving large SUVs?
My personal thoughts? DON'T ... here are my reasons ..
ages between 16 to 24 are considered by insurance companies as ';danger zones'; as far as drivers between those ages are concerned. We're talking statistics here on recorded accidents involving a lot of young drivers.
and SUVs are kinda expensive to put in a not-so-experienced hands. Notice i didn't say ';dangerous hands'; .. plus, you may be the most careful teenage drive and the one behind you or in front of you may be the most wackiest of drivers. Inexperience can sometimes cause you to ';panic'; when an erratic driver gets in your way.
In terms of driving, experience is still the best teacher around. No two circumstances are ever the same. driving conditions and situations always vary and this is what experience will teach you.
Besides, SUVs are a little bit harder to control than small cars. SO .. gain your experience on small cars before you take on a huge responsibility of handling an SUV. it doesn't take long really ... just lots of practice and always remember .. be defensive rather than aggressive.
one good pointer to ponder ... ';Arrive Alive'; ...
hope that helps you out
My experience is that alot of teens wreck thier first vehicle. Its kinda scary to think they have a large SUV to crash into me with. Something safe, but...SUV? Im not too sure about that.
im 17 and i drive my moms 08 h2 with 26';s on it to school once in a while . i got to admit it intimidates me someimtes but more or less it does to other drivers =)
When is it normal for a teenage boy not to want to have sexual intercourse?
And why wouldn't he want to?When is it normal for a teenage boy not to want to have sexual intercourse?
1. If he's a ';late bloomer.'; (Matures later than his peers).

Know any good books for a teenage girl?
I prefer darker or off-kilter things. For example my favorite movies are directed by Tim Burton, bands are Rise Against, My Chemical Romance things like that. I have a very wide range of prefered literature however. My favorites are Animal Farm, Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, Catcher in the Rye, House of the Scorpian, The Sea of Trolls, and a ton more. Please give me some suggestions on what I can read.Know any good books for a teenage girl?

Hope you find what you are looking for.
Try Veronika Decides to Die, by Paulo Cohelo (don't kill me if that's not spelled right). It's a fantastic book鈥揳 little on the creepy side鈥?you said you liked Tim Burton's work) but a classic. Also try 1984 by the same author as Animal Farm, or maybe some classics (you said you liked Alice in Wonderland) like Emma or Little Women.
If you like post-apocalyptic stuff, I recommend ';The Forest of Hands and Teeth.'; I would also recommend the Mortal Instruments Series, A Time for Dancing, and my favorite book of all, ';The Hunger Games.'; But I find that it's nice to read a really dark book, and then read something funny and amusing. Don't stick to one genre, thought if you do, Amazon has an excellent post-apocalyptic community with numerous books listed.
Mysteries are always a good choice. Robin Cook writes good medical thrillers; he is an M.D. so his books are very realistic and scary. Mary Higgins Clark writes some eerie stuff and Dean Koontz's book ';Watchers'; is a classic mystery that centers on a highly intelligent dog and a monster bent on destroying him. All of these have a little romance thrown in. Tony Hillerman writes mysteries that take place on and around the Indian reservations out west. You learn a lot of incidentals about the Navajos and surprisingly I fell in love with those books. They depict a quieter, simpler life and touch on an inner wisdom found in the characters. They are a great escape. Happy reading to you whatever you choose.
Just Listen by sarah dessen....its got a music theme which was one of the first things you mentioned..but it's not very academic.
A thousand splendid suns was FANTASTIC and very interesting as well as Slumdog Millionaire...much better than the movie.
My favorite is As I Lay Dying by Faulkner.
Haha try all!
';Catcher in the Rye'; is my favorite book ever.
Stuff I've read that you might like:
Ender's Game
The Fountainhead
The Monsters of Templeton
many books by Chuck Palahniuk
Here is a site of teen books you can read: http://www.amazon.com/Great-Books-Teen-G鈥?/a>
Try Edgar Allen Poe stories and Stephen King.
Shakespeare, if you can tolerate his writing, has some of the most exceptional tragedies.
';The Lovely Bones'; Alice Sebold
you'd probably like Neal Shusterman. Especially Full Tilt, The Downsiders, and probebly Duckling Ugly.
Then there's Poison by Chris Wooding
Umm cant think of more at the moment. hope i helped :)
If you can make it through, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is a pretty dark ';classic'; book about an ax murderer. I enjoyed it.
1st obvious choice is TWILIGHT... the books are good trust me... i know sounds kinds lame but its a good saga
An extremely dark and wonderful book is ';Paint it Black'; by Janet Fitch. She is an amazing author. And if you like that book, read ';White Oleander'; by her as well.
Based on what you like i would reccomend, A Scanner Darkly- by Phillip K Dick, or any Hunter S. Thompson books
gardians of time trilogy.

What would you say if your teenage daughter came home pregnant?
I'm not in the sitituation myself, but...What would you say if your teenage daughter came home pregnant?
Stay calm. Stay calm. Stay calm.
If she chooses to have the child, support her so she can finish school, go to college, etc.
Don't moralize (well, at least not too much..) - she's already learned the lesson.
She's still your daughter, no matter what.
If she chooses to have a safe abortion, go with her and do not get emotional.
That's what I'd do, I guess. But I do hope never to be in that situation. I'd teach her about birth control and safe sex, certainly. What would you say if your teenage daughter came home pregnant?
My first words would probably be ';Oh my goodness';...
i am 19 and i had gotten pregnant at 15. i was very scared to tel my parents and it was so hard for me i thought they would hate me... i went to my boy freind house while i had my sister ttell them while i was gone.. they came and picked me up and just hugged me and creid saying that they would never hate me.. things happen and they will always be here for me.. i neverthought they would of understood i am so happy my parents are here for me... i dont kno what i would of done with out them i was to young for a child but they helped me all the wat through it nowi have a great son i love him to death and would never go back and not have him! its great having parents that understand....
It would be hard but they are in the situation. I would want to help them as much as possible because I want them to stay in school and I know I would be upset but I also know I want to support them. My child is going to be my child just as would I my grandchild. I would help, but I could not make the child my own because they would need to know I am hoping my children will learn from us, but I know that in this society there are alot more pregnant teens so it could be a reality. I have awhile before even thinking about that and am having a boy. If it was my son in this situation I would tell him to step up to his responsibility because that baby will need a father in his life. I hope it doesn't come to that but I would support her the best we could. It's scary to think it could happen but I hope I would be supportive because it doesn't help saying she/he should have gotten on birth control or used a condom. But I hope I tell them why and they can come to me. I also hope I would have told them the consequences that could happen before the fact.
I'm very disappointed in you
At first I would probably panic but afterwards I would make sure she knew that I would do anything she ever needed to help her and her baby even if it meant adopting it and raising it as my own.
IF i found out my teenager daughter is pregnant.. I would ask who the father.. And talk to her no point of being mad mother.. And ask her what she wanted to do and i am against abortion so i would let her do the adopt after giving birth or Let her handle her responbile for her mistake.. and explain to her that i am there for her and that she need to understand what she did.. and depend how stict the family is too.. Some parents doesn't teach they kid at the young age to use a condom.. it become mistake.. (some parents will kick they kids out...) but i would not do that... But i believe on being stict with my kids about that...
';What the hell is wrong with you?!!'; That would be the exact phrase that would come out of my mouth. That may sound bad but I will in no way approve of my daughter having sex untill she is out of my house. I will let her know if she is dumb enough to be having sex then she better be smart enough to use some birth control and condoms. I dont want her coming home with an STD either and if shes pregnant she has not been using protection. I would be very supportive of her and abortion would not be an option for the simple fact she would be to young unless she was like 19 to make such a large desision. Adoption would be a choice for her whether it be adopted to me or someone we dont know that would be up to her. After the shock wore off I would talk to her and not condemn her but be gentle with her because she is mt child and she would need all the love and support of her mother at this point in her life.
';What the F*ck happened??';
Oh..maybe I should think that one over a bit.....
How long have you known?
Who is the father?
Have you told him?
If yes, how did he react?
What do you think you should do?
What do you want to do?
Have you been to a doctor yet?
You have done something that will be changing your life completely, but
I love you and will help you and the baby in any way that I can.
I can not know exactly what I would do unless I was there. I hope that I will teach her well enough for it not to happen, but if it does, it will be too complicated to answer here. It depends so much of the circumstances...
No matter what though, I am on her side and want the best for her.
I don't know, since I don't have children, but I'd want to say that since she wasn't responsible enough to have unprotected sex, then she wouldn't be responsible enough to take care of a child. I would force her to give it up for adoption if she were under 18 when the child was born. The child should have a chance at a real family and future instead of being the child of a careless teenager. If she were over 18, I would tell her that if she wants to play grown-up and have a baby, then she can keep her baby in her own house where she pays her own bills.
I would support her not attack her. She needs someone their for her... family sticks together. That is our family motto
I would be disappointed in her that she wasn't careful, but I would support her and her decision (to keep it, or not) and let her know that some times we are too young to handle things, so we wait until we are older.
I also know from personal experiance, that my mom sat me down when I was 14 and really told me about sex and pregnancy and I decided to wait to have sex until I was older so when I did at 20, I was more mentally mature and would have been able to handle a situation like that. I think that if you talk to your children and really tell them what it would be like to have kids when they are kids, we would have less teen pregnancy.
I would play Shania Twain ';I Ain't Going Down';...
I had a baby at fifteen
Daddy never did forgive me
I never heard from the guy again
I had to drop outta high school
Everybody treated me so cruel
But I didn't give in and give her away
I'm gonna hold on
'Cause what I believe in is so strong
No matter how long, no one
Can tell me I'm wrong--I ain't goin' down
Her smile got me through the day and every night I'd pray
I could give her enough
At night I'd lie awake and cry hopin' we'd get by
'Cause you can't live on love
I worked night and day to keep us goin'
Through the sweat and tears without her knowin'
It was worth it just to watch her grow
Oh, oh, at least I was able to hold her
Whenever she needed my shoulder
I'm so glad I never let her go
I'm gonna hold on
'Cause what I believe in is so strong
No matter how long, no one
Can tell me I'm wrong--I ain't goin' down
Then I'd give her a big hug and tell her we'll get through it together.
I would tell her I love you and that i understood that she is not a bad person. and that I will be there for her. I can tell you this from the out look of a preg. teen. I was 16 years old when I had my son and this year he grad. college at the top of class. He has been the joy of my life it's not always easy but it's worth it all. I have three children now. we never know why somethings happen but I know they happen for a reason. Love your children always and you will have a beautiful life.
Nothing and the next morning ask her what her plans are.
well, since i am a teenager, when i get older, if my daughter came home and she was my age and she was pregnant, i don't know what i would say.
but i know that i would still love her, and i would help her, and i would help the baby.
i would have to tell her that her life is basically over, because i know if i HAD a kid right now, there is no way i would have time for a social life!
i would panic but not 2 the point of explotion so just talk 2 her and ask her what she wants 2 do b/c its her body and she has the right 2 decide if she keeps it or not
If she was 18 or younger then i would be telling her to have an abortion and if she didn't then she can move out of my house and play house on her own.
I was 17. My mother said ';are you stupid?? why didnt you take care of yourself?'; now she absolutely loves my son!!
well i'm sure she'd feel pretty crappy so don't explode or anything. even if you were in the situation, you'd let her know that you still love her and support in every possible way.
I would say, ';I love you.'; Then, I would talk with her about having an abortion, having the baby and giving it up for adoption, and keeping the baby. We would decide, together, what would be best for her and our family. I have my own opinion, but I would leave it to her.
If my daughter were a teen ager and she came home telling me she was pregnant I would ask her what she planned to do.
Do not TELL her what shes gonna do with the baby...Shell end up doing the exact opposite!!!and saying ';go get a coat hanger'; is horrible!!!How could anyone even thikn about saying that!!!Imagine just finding out that you just made probly the biggest mistake in ur life by the worse guy possible and are more afraid of hurting your parents!!! Dont tell them something like that...you have a right 2 be beyond upset but dont throw a huge fit!! Talk to her about ALL the choices she has, ask her how she feels, tell her how YOU feel and ask her why she did what she did!!!! If you TELL her what she is going to do with HER baby then shes gonna do the exact opposite and probly something even more stupid!!!By you yelling at her its not going to chnage what happend. You have to think b4 u start yelling ';what the hells wrong with you!!'; Just because you diapprove of ur doughter having sex does not mean its not going to happen!!!The more you threaten her the more shes gonna do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im a teen, most call me mature and im just telling you what as a 16 year old what i would do as a pregnant teen and the mother!!!

';This is what you get for spreading your legs';
I'll get the saw.
holy ****..i didnt know i had a daughter...
To get a good night's sleep as she is getting an abortion tomorrow.
Id say ';honey, go get me a coat hanger';
Stay calm. Stay calm.
';What the F*ck happened??';
